Impact Statement
The Brain Injury Association of Waterloo-Wellington is a registered non-profit charity. We are member-based and fueled by the support of a small staff team and a base of volunteers who believe in the work of BIAWW. BIAWW offers many meaningful volunteer opportunities, and we work carefully to match each applicant with roles that align with their interests, strengths, and availability, while also meeting program and staff needs.
Please note that we will not be able to engage every applicant in every volunteer role. Our goal is always to ensure a positive, mutually beneficial fit.

Description
This position directly supports the fundraising efforts of the Brain Injury Association of Waterloo-Wellington. Volunteer representatives work alongside staff to present our organization, raise awareness, and support OLG Bingo's efforts, which in turn ensures critical revenue for our programs serving brain injury survivors and caregivers.
Responsibilities include:
- Acting as a representative for BIAWW, providing customer service, building rapport, answering questions about our agency, and ensuring people have a positive experience.
- Ensuring bingo numbers are called back in a clear, loud voice.
- Ensuring the space is cleaned up, chairs pushed in.
Punctuality, reliability, a welcoming demeanour, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are important for this role.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: All volunteers must complete an online training specific to this program area along with a volunteer orientation and complete a paperwork package.
Working Conditions: Physical load warning: This role is suitable for someone who can tolerate being on their feet for 2 hours and/or able to navigate the space with speed to check when bingos are called.
Confidence to call out and confirm bingos is another requirement that could cause anxiety for some.
Do you feel you could meet both of these requirements without undue stress to your body, mind or emotions? It is important to us that volunteer roles do not cause our volunteers undue stress. We have a variety of roles and work to find the best mutual fit.

Time Commitment
Duration: 4 - 6 months
Weekday - Daytime
Shifts available on Wednesday from 1:30-4:30, approximately once per month, with additional shifts offered with advance notice.
