Description
Responsibilities include:
- Plan, lead, and implement volunteer recruitment, training, recognition, and retention activities for the GVTA.
- Recruit, interview, and select volunteers for a variety of roles, including trail maintenance, Board positions, administrative roles, and casual volunteer opportunities.
- Create, update, and maintain volunteer role descriptions, as well as volunteer and membership documents and forms.
- Keep the volunteer database up to date.

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Orientation to the GVTA organization and Board is provided to all Directors. Training on the database and other tools required for the role will also be provided.
Working Conditions: With the exception of Board meetings held approximately 10 times per year (mostly remotely), most volunteer work is completed independently from home or an office that is convenient for you. The Director must have access to a phone, computer, and reliable internet.

The role primarily involves coaching and managing volunteers, along with independent office work such as writing role descriptions, responding to emails, and occasionally speaking with people by phone. As needed, the Director may also meet with volunteers at a suitable location, such as a coffee shop.
